GLAX- FREAKSNOW Operations Part 2

Oh you thought it was over? That’s hilarious, so did I, small world! Except now it’s called FREAK SNOW, which I favor because it takes far less explaining.

“… Yeah, It’s called Glaxial.”

”It looks like ‘galaxyal’.”

“I know but it isn’t. Look, he’s Canadian, I just work here.”

The fates conspired to induce me once again to open the 3-inch thick box of paneling, scripts, artworks, concept drawings,  folded 18x24” production pages, etc… to bring you more pages of this book. A new publisher has entered the ring, and a full-bore graphic novel is now in the works. That is the final stop with this thing, after these pages are done I’m lettering the book and slapping my seal onto it, I’m ready to work on something else and admire FREAK OR GOD from a safe distance on my bookshelf, NOT elbow-deep in its guts on my drafting table.

Now that you know how I feel, let’s get into the meaty bits.

Starting off with some Prequel pages that set up Kralex’s relationship with his parents. I think this is actually a pretty great addition to the book, it was a little nebulous before, but this fleshes out something that was only hinted at before. Only on the inks today since I had to get another big project to a stopping point yesterday.

At this rate, I do expect to have the new pages finished artwork-wise within three weeks, and lettering done the following week. There’s also another artist on the bill for this one, a guy who does terrific psychedelic sci-fi surrealism, and I’m SO excited to tell you about him but I don’t think I can yet.

There will be more of this coming every Tuesday, so LOOKOUT, Snow Freaks. It’s a-comin’.
